QUIET
by Gerard J. Surprenant

Quieter than a sunset
Or a cloud at the end of day,
Quieter than a rain drop
Falling on a bed of hay,
Quieter than a morning breeze
Wafting through your hair,
Quieter than a spider's step
As he weaves a web of air,
Quieter than a thought
In the middle of the night,
So quiet that it makes
Other thoughts seem pointless and trite.
